By now, you all probably know that the thing we love the most is listening to our Ops team member, Rita, frantically run along our new office corridor with a cowbell in hand (our neighbours must love us already), opening every door and dangling it so no doubts are to be left in our minds — a hire has just taken place.
Getting people hired is what keeps this bunch of crazies going and #aimingformore. It is the core of what we do and what unites every team’s work and final goal.
However, we don’t think we share this feeling with the world enough, so we’re going to cover one successful hiring story every month from both sides: successful candidates who have been hired through Landing.jobs, and companies who have been successful in hiring tech pros through our platform.
Without further ado, here is our first story of the year.
Anders Hasselstrøm, hired for Typeform in Barcelona
Anders is one of those professionals who can boast about a successful startup story. He is the CEO and founder of Startuptravels, a professional social network that enables people to meet local entrepreneurs and business professionals while traveling.
With a Master’s Degree in Business Development from the Copenhagen Business School under his belt, Denmark is where Anders is originally from and where he began his professional career. He has since moved on to working in Product Development.
When he talks about some of the places he’s lived in, such as Australia, San Francisco, and in Scotland for the last six months, you can understand how his idea for Startuptravels popped into his mind while biking through his hometown of Copenhagen. We’re thankful that it did, because that’s exactly how he came to know Landing.jobs.
Before he did, Anders’s professional career was always guided by his network and people who recommended him to employers — or by starting something himself. But when he started looking for a new job, he knew that two users of Startuptravels happened to be Landing.jobs’ co-founder, Pedro Oliveira, and Business Developer for Spain, Joan Viladomat. He decided to give us a try.
“Pedro is a user of Startuptravels since its early days. I know he’s serious about what he’s doing with Landing.jobs, and he has a really good approach at how he builds his business. When it was time to start looking for a new job, I gave Landing.jobs a try.”
Typeform stood out, and Anders applied for their Product Manager role in Barcelona. The Spanish startup creates user-friendly surveys and other types of online forms, and landed a $15 million round of financing last year, led by Index Ventures.
Even though Anders had interviews with a startup in Berlin, Skyscanner, Airbnb, LinkedIn, and… Google, he considered Typeform’s hiring process and offer through Landing.jobs to be the most attractive.

“I had already built something successful, and I felt like someone understood my situation. Even after the pre-screening questions, Joan was really helpful. I felt like there was always someone looking out for me.”
When asked what he liked the most about getting hired through Landing.jobs, Anders refers the personalised feeling he was left with.
“The fact that someone reached out and asked how the interview went, that there’s someone who truly cares, that’s something really nice. The personalised experience was exceptional. Joan is a really good guy.”
Joan was actually at our new office when Anders accepted Typeform’s proposal, so when Barcelona was the ultimate winner, he got to celebrate his hire with the whole team and not just with his dog at home.
“Right in the beginning, I told Anders, ‘If you get hired, we will celebrate with a beer in front of the sea here in Barcelona’.” When I got to know him better during the hiring process, I knew he was a top talent and had the exact soft skills that Typeform looks for. They were a total match and I was just by their side trying to make them realize it.”
Anders’s first day at Typeform is less than two weeks away, and the company is even helping him in the whole process of moving and has covered his first month in Barcelona. Even though he’s leaving his girlfriend behind, he can’t wait to start this new adventure. Anders ultimately chose Barna over Dublin because he considered Typeform as the most interesting company offering the most appealing role. The Spanish warmth didn’t sound bad either.
“I’m a huge admirer of sun and the ocean, and having lived in Scotland for the last six months, I decided the next move would be to somewhere warm.”
When asked what he’s looking forward to the most about moving to Catalonia’s seaside beauty, Anders is excited to find out more about what the tech scene there is like in its growing tech community.
“I’m really looking forward to working with a later stage startup. I’m really motivated by Typeform as a community.”
We asked Anders to tell us what he’d say about us if a friend or peer asked why it was worth getting hired through Landing.jobs. We blushed with his answer.
“First of all, you manage to get together a list of relevant jobs to people like me. There are jobs for Product Managers, Developers, and other careers around tech. The second thing I would mention is the personalised experience. People really take care of you.”
Thank you so much for sharing your story with us and we wish you every success in Barcelona, Anders! And don’t forget to share a photo of that beer with Joan. 😉
