Open Doors in Amsterdam (November 2019)

How are you feeling today? Even if you’re happy with your career, has the desire to change kicked in? What about the New Year resolutions — are they fading out already? Looking for some “new decade challenge” that can turn your life around?

Do you feel that it’s time for a fresh start? Perhaps you feel like you aren’t being challenged anymore by your current company, or you have that gut feeling that you could be doing different (great things) in another company.

For years, Landing.jobs has been putting the right tech talent in touch with the best employers through events, meetups and tech career conferences. We take great pride in highlighting great career opportunities and matching people to the cities and environments that can be their new (and nurturing) home.

After another successful Open Doors event last November in Amsterdam, we are launching two new and improved editions. One in the Netherlands for .NET experts, and another one in Germany for Android experts — both in April 2020.

Why The Netherlands?

Amsterdam is an attractive environment for tech talent — over 215K tech workers in a city with 1 million people. Currently, the city is home to more than 1,650 tech companies and, 450 multinationals have offices in Amsterdam, such as Heineken, Tesla, Uber, Nike, Booking.com. or Netflix.

The Netherlands has grown to become very attractive for start-ups too — data from later 2019 points that more than 1,700 start-ups and scale-ups are based in Amsterdam and the tech industry represents 13% of the Dutch economy.

This tech boom has spread from Amsterdam throughout the entire country. Utrecht, a smaller city located within a 25 minutes train ride from Amsterdam, ensures to provide superior quality of business and life while being the home of hundreds of start-ups and incubators.

Why Germany?

Germany has one of the highest GDP in the world, making it one of the most powerful economies. The country invests a lot of money in developing its own companies — German cities boast a large number of innovative high tech companies and, consequently, the number of tech jobs available has increased in the last years.

Hamburg is the second-largest city in Germany — considered as the national center of commerce. While being a beautiful green city (14% of the city is green space), the salaries in Hamburg are higher than the national average — currently is the wealthiest city in Germany.

Some tech giants that have offices in Hamburg are Google, Facebook or Airbnb. Lately, the city has also become one of the most attractive markets and incubators for start-ups, known to be home to more than 400 tech start-ups.

The Open Doors Experience

After you submit your application, we’ll screen your background and application form. The next step is a skill-assessment test. If you ace the challenge, we will contact you to assess your motivation. In the last phase, you’ll have to record a video answering 2 questions.

If everything goes well, you will be one of the top 30 tech talents that we’ll bring to one of the coolest technology spots in Europe.

Open Doors in Amsterdam (November 2019)

The Open Doors have helped launch new careers — both recruiters and talent describe it as an amazing experience that provides precious insights. One of the previous attendees stated that “it was an awesome experience that I really enjoyed and would repeat because it opens a lot more doors than the normal recruitment processes”.

Still wondering if it’s worth it to apply?

Nowadays, there are so many options in the tech environment that can be overwhelming and difficult to evaluate if a certain opportunity is worth the time and investment. On an Open Doors visit, you get a better sense of the city, the culture of the company and understand in loco the projects on offer.

This event, designed for both locals and international applicants, will allow you to get a first-hand impression of the most exciting tech scenes in Europe — it’s a unique opportunity for you to decide if this is the right next step in your career while being a risk-free trip.

Feel free to fill in our application process — if you meet the standards, you will find yourself on a trip that can change your life and career. On our part, we’ll cover the flights for internationals and provide travel itinerary for the locals since we believe it’s always the right time to be introduced to new challenges in the coolest cities in Europe.

Aim for more!
