Curating the list of the top startups to work in Europe is not an easy task when we learn how many startups are based in the continent. According to Glassdollar, there are 123k startups in Europe and around 26k new startups per year.

For this years’ list, in particular, we’re going to take into account those tech-startups that have grown exponentially and those that are set for a bright future ahead. The list follows no particular order and is diverse when it comes to location and specialisation.

Bolt

This one might need no introduction since not only is a unicorn but it is also one of the fastest-growing startups in Europe and the world. Bolt is a Tallin based startup that has is on a mission to revolutionise transportation across the planet and make it cleaner, smarter and more socially responsible. It’s the ideal place for those who want to feel the startup environment from day one, work in a very multicultural and diverse company and enter the global transportation race against Uber and, in the USA, with Lyft.

Babylon Health

Babylon Health is a London based startup that aims to provide accessible and affordable healthcare by combining AI and Doctors. Since it was founded in 2013, Babylon Health has raised $635M in three rounds, the last one being August 2019. The Covid 19 pandemic has made it quite clear that the healthcare industry across the globe needs an upgrade ASAP. If you’re interested in working in a mix of technology, AI and healthcare to help revolutionise one of the most vital, and still very old-school, industries this is the perfect chance.

Talkdesk

Based between Lisbon and San Francisco, Talkdesk is an enterprise cloud contact that helps companies improve customer satisfaction and agent productivity. Talkdesk closed a $143M in series C funding this year from a combination of new and existing investors. This has raised the company’s valuation to $3 billion, making it our second unicorn on the list. If you’re looking for a tech-centred opportunity that is remote and aims to help companies excel their customer service game, Talkdesk is your place to be.

N26

Banks are one of those traditional entities that have been slowly catching up on innovation. N26 is all about building the banking system of the 21st century. This Berlin-based startup offers mobile banking solutions to customers in the European Union, and in the US through a partnership with Axos® Bank, Member FDIC.

The app, which is available on iOS, Android and desktop, claims a full European banking licence that combines revolutionary technology and no branch network. If this wasn’t enough to catch your attention, you should learn that they have raised $782M in funding, the last round being May 2020 in which they raised $100M from two investors. N26 is going places, and you definitely will too if you join them.

BOOM imagestudio

BOOM is a photo-tech startup that is transforming the way digital content is created globally. The Milan-based startup develops and manages digital tools to optimise the production and acquisition of visual assets through a platform that streamlines photoshoot cycles, from booking to final delivery.

It’s the newbie of the list, but in the era of content creation, BOOM has everything in place to continue growing. They have raised a total of $11M in the last two years, the last investment closed late October 2020.

If you’re looking to join a new but fast-growing company and on top of that you’re into content creation, photography and visual arts, Boom is worth checking out.
